My Story
Being the reliable teammate that everyone comes to for solutions, support and guidance is difficult, and when you have your own needs, it can be challenging to reach out. This is further compounded by expectations for yourself and others to maintain a high degree of responsibility, accountability and respect. You know yourself best, so I offer a collaborative, authentic space where you can explore your experiences and significant life transitions.
I tailor my sessions to your unique concerns, goals, and style with curiosity, pragmaticism, and humor. Together, we will do what it takes for you to gain insight, understanding, and the skills you are seeking to move forward.
Having worked in federal corrections for the past five years, I know first-hand the challenges many professionals face and have nuanced awareness of how training, workplace experiences and elevated responsibilities to the public can impact your life. With a combined total of 15 years working in mental health and adjacent fields at not-for-profit, for profit and government organizations, I am well versed in navigating systemic inequality, advocacy, connecting to community supports, and understanding policy.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in openminded, empathetic communication through a strengths based, humanistic, trauma informed, anti-oppressive, culturally aware lens. I draw upon a variety of modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotion focused, and Solution Focused.
I am an NIHB Provider, covered by most workplace insurance plans, can aid in WHIMIS claims and offer a sliding scale upon discussion.
Let’s explore your facets together.
